Caroline Dynybil Interview (2012)How were you introduced to skateboarding and what got you started? My big brother and his best friend who I had a crush on…classic haha. That was when I was about 9, I started when I was 16 because going out to bars just wasn’t what it used to be anymore hehe. Do you remember what your first setup was? It was some crap wheels Crazy Creek, World Industries board and Venture Trucks. I got it when I was 9 or 10 and started skating on it again when I was 16.
Were there any early influences on your skating? The crush my best friend had on a skater and Jana Honnerova and Klara Kasparova. And Tomas Vintr for sure who had some kind words, I am sure he doesn’t even remember. What is the best and worst thing about your hometown? Great beer, family, memories, Stalin Square and friends! Worst thing? Maybe the conservative vibes you have to deal with from time to time, but I am a fan of our local culture anyways. Besides skateboarding, what do you like to do in your spare time? Write, play some guitar and chill outside with friends. Do some painting, eat some good food, classic pretty much.
What is your typical day like? I try to avoid that. Where do you like to skate? Everywhere with good vibes and homies. Right on. Do you like skating contests? Favorite contest? I do kind of like the show. And the getting together. Favorite? Any contest with a good getting together, and no injuries!
Where has skateboarding allowed you to travel? Which is your favorite? I travel as much as I can, Basel, Barcelona, London, all around Czech Republic, couple places in Germany, and some places in the States. Can't get enough. Not doing the pro and con thing when it comes to skate travelling. If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go? Home. Everywhere. This particular moment LA. What kind of music do you listen to? All kinds, but strong feelings on rock n' roll, punk, disco, electro…eeehm yeah.
What is something most people don't know about you? I feel old. So far, what have been some of the highlights of your skateboarding? Meeting Timmi, a skate obsessed awesome dude in San Fran who showed me some hard core skateboarding I could identify with. Thanks loads dude! (if you ever read this) Shout outs and thanks? Right on! Fuck yeahrr! Session is raging! Thanks to family, friends and skateboarding!
